Saving Video and Photos From Public Telegram Channels

Public channels publish an embeddable version of every post. That's the part Clearlla reads.

How it works

Telegram lets any website embed a post from a public channel. That embed carries the direct file link for whatever the post contains, which is how a news site can show you a channel video without you installing anything. Clearlla reads the same embed and hands you the file.

Because it is the same file the channel uploaded, there is no re-encoding and no quality loss.

The steps

  • Open the post in a public channel, on the app or on the web.
  • Right-click or long-press the message and choose Copy Link. It should look like t.me/channelname/1234.
  • Paste it into the Clearlla Telegram downloader.
  • Download the video, or each photo if the post is an album.

Where the line is

Private channels, groups, and one-to-one chats need an authenticated session. There is no anonymous way in, and building one would mean asking for your phone number, which we won't do.

Documents, files, and standalone audio are not part of the public embed either, so those posts return a message rather than a broken file.
