Save the full-resolution thumbnail of a YouTube video, Short, or past live stream. Video, audio, MP3, and captions are not supported.
Clearlla reads YouTube's public video data and gives you the cover image at every resolution YouTube publishes for it, up to 1280×720. Paste a watch link, a youtu.be link, or a Shorts link and you get the title, the channel name, a clean link back to the video, and the thumbnail files themselves.
Video and audio downloads are deliberately not offered. YouTube provides no public video or audio rendition-download endpoint for this use case, and the workarounds all involve going around protections on YouTube's player. That is not something Clearlla will build. Thumbnails belong to whoever uploaded the video, so only download images you own or have permission to use.

Known limitations
- No video downloads. YouTube publishes no download endpoint for video renditions, and the alternatives mean going around its player protections.
- No MP3 or audio extraction, for the same reason.
- No subtitles or captions.
- Public and some link-accessible YouTube videos may work. Private, deleted, restricted, or otherwise unavailable videos are not supported.
- Some videos never get a 1280×720 thumbnail. In that case the largest published size is returned instead.
- Thumbnails are copyrighted by the uploader. Download only what you own or have permission to use.
- Public content only. Private, follower-only, and login-walled posts cannot be read.
- Deleted or removed media cannot be recovered, even if the link still exists.
- Age-restricted and region-locked posts may fail if the source blocks anonymous access.
- Downloaded media belongs to its creator. Check platform terms and copyright before reusing it.
