Saving Pinterest Pins and Video Pins
How to get the full-resolution file behind a pin instead of the compressed thumbnail your browser offers.
The thumbnail problem
Right-clicking a pin usually saves whatever size the grid happened to render, which can be a fraction of the original. Pinterest keeps a larger master file behind the scenes.
Clearlla reads the pin's own metadata and returns the largest version it publishes, which is the one worth keeping if you are collecting references.
How to save a pin
- Open the pin, either in the app or on the web.
- Use the share menu and copy the link. Both pinterest.com and pin.it links work.
- Paste it into the Clearlla Pinterest downloader.
- Download the image or, for a video pin, the MP4.
What does not work
- Secret boards and pins on private profiles are not readable.
- Whole boards are not downloaded in one action. Pins are saved one link at a time, or in batch mode if you paste several links.
