Saving Discord Attachments Without Signing In

Tapping a Discord file on a phone opens a player with no save button. Here's the way around that.

How it works

Discord stores every uploaded file on its own CDN, and an attachment link points at that file directly. There is no page to parse and nothing to scrape. Clearlla checks the link, reads the file type and size from the response, and gives you a real download with the original filename attached.

On desktop this is a small convenience. On a phone it's the difference between having the file and not: Discord's mobile browser view plays video inline with no obvious way to save it.

The steps

  • Find the attachment in Discord.
  • Right-click the file and choose Copy Link, or long-press and use Share on mobile.
  • Paste the link into the Clearlla Discord downloader.
  • Download the file under its original name.

Two things worth knowing

A message link, the discord.com/channels/... kind, won't work. Reading a message needs an account with access to that server, and Clearlla doesn't sign in or run a bot. Copy the attachment link instead.

Discord signs its CDN links and stops honouring them after roughly a day. An old link pasted into any tool will be refused by Discord, not by us. Copying it again from Discord fixes it.
