What Supported, Limited, and In Development Actually Mean

Three labels, three very different promises. Here is the standard behind each one.

Supported

A platform is marked Supported only after the whole path has been tested against real public URLs: detection, extraction, metadata, error handling, and the behaviour of the queue when something goes wrong. It also needs a passing certification run at the current extractor version.

Today that covers TikTok, Reddit, Pinterest, Streamable, Twitch, and Mastodon. If a Supported platform breaks upstream, it moves to Temporarily unavailable rather than pretending to work.

Limited

Limited means part of the platform works well and part does not, with the boundary written on the platform page. Bluesky is a clear example: images yes, video no. YouTube is another: Clearlla saves thumbnails and shows video details, but it does not download YouTube video or audio. Telegram and Discord are Limited too, because only public posts and direct attachment links can be read.

Limited is not a soft launch. Everything inside the stated scope is expected to work every time.

In Development

In Development means work has started but downloads are switched off. Some of these platforms already have a public page, such as Vimeo and Dailymotion, because the page explains the current situation honestly. Those pages carry the In Development label, do not offer a working download, and say why. Vimeo, for example, now serves most video as segmented streams rather than a single file, which Clearlla does not convert.

Other platforms, including Instagram and X, appear only on the roadmap. Nowhere on the site will a page claim support for something that does not work yet.
